BIVOUAC IN THE MOUNTAINS 

THE GUIDE'S INVITATION:

"One day, I unfolded a map of Northern Norway, a region pretty close to Lappitrek's headquarters. And I saw these little altitude lakes on a mountainous peninsula. I told myself: What if we left with the backpacks, tents, and packrafts, and we hiked the few kilometers of elevation gain to reach these lakes, camped there, and paddled on these lakes with turquoise waters!? It didn't take long for me to make the project a reality. Here are some photos of the two 2023 bivouacs put together in four days. Beauty is not an empty word on these two bivouac sites. Come to check yourself!"

WHEN: From June to August
WHERE:  in the mountains of Northern Norway 
DURATION: 5 full days
MEETING POINT: In Trømsø, Norway
DISTANCE: 8 km + 10 km (about 20 km total)
LEVEL: Demanding
ENVIRONMENT: This bivouac adventure takes place in the mountains of Northern Norway quite far away from any urban infrastructure.  We progress in a mountainous environment at a moderate altitude. At every campsite, there is a lake, waterfalls, and glaciers which make the spot colder than we can imagine. Expect about 400-500 m elevation gain in total. There is no facility on the bivouac site.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: You must know how to swim and feel at ease aboard a floating device. Be prepared for the small discomforts that wilderness camping can sometimes bring.
SCHEDULE:
DAY 1:
Welcome to Trømsø Airport in Norway! Transportation to the campground. Installation.
Presentation of the trip and preparation of the gear.
Dinner. Good night!

DAY 2:
Good morning! Breakfast. Packing time. Early morning departure.
Road trip along the beautiful fjords. We take a ferry boat to reach the peninsula. Arrival at the trailhead of the first hike & bivouac trip. Picnic lunch.
We hike in a vast moraine on about 4 km. About 100 m elevation gain.
Arrival at the campsite. We put up the tents by the lake facing the mountains and a glacier.
Time for paddling and exploring the turquoise waters 
Dinner. Good night!

DAY 3:
Good morning! Breakfast. Packing time.
We hike back to the car.
Road trip along the fjords. Arrival at the trailhead of the second hike & bivouac trip. Picnic lunch.
We hike and ascend a mountain on a steep trail. Strenuous but gorgeous climb. About 400 m elevation gain.
Arrival at the campsite. We put up the tents by the lake.
Time for paddling and exploring around aboard the packrafts.
Dinner. Good night!

DAY 4:
Good morning! Breakfast. 
Time for paddling and exploring around.
Packing time
We hike back to the car. Lunch.
Road trip back to Trømsø. Arrival at the campground. Installation.
Dinner.
Visiting the city.

DAY 5:

Departure. Transportation to the airport.

Price does not include: your round trip home-Lapland, your lodging before and after the program, your liability insurance, your health coverage, alcohol and souvenirs, your clothing adjusted to the season

Payment: 20% at the time of booking then full payment 30 days before the beginning of the trip
