THE EXPERIENCE TO LIVE: That gr

You won't regret the one-hour drive to reach that narrow forest road that leads to that beautiful white immensity. Far North atmosphere guaranteed! This is an easy itinerary away from the crowds and the beaten paths around Levi or Ylläs. We will use Finnish backcountry skis for that trip (different from the cross)country skis you see on the pictures; wider spatulas and shorter skis) Half way we take lunch in a picturesque log cabin hidden in the forest near the shores of that lake.

A WORD FROM THE GUIDE: This is the tiniest and cutest wilderness hut that I know in the whole area. It takes a while to get there but nothing compares to a skiing trip in the powdery snow through the tall trees of the taïga and along the deep Äkäs Valley away from the world. From mid-February, a cross-country skiing track is groomed nearby. This is why I want to take you there in the darkest times of Winter when silence and solitude are big. We eat lunch by the stove inside the hut before skiing back to the starting point of our adventure. We use headlamps for the last kilometers and get to experience the wilderness at night.

THE EXPER
IENCE TO LIVE: "A fire of dreams"... Isn't what you expect to experience when you come to Lapland!? Somehow, the locals promised it to you when they named that hill overlooking the fells range and wild lands of Yllästunturi National Park. This is the place for some bewitching wide-angle views, gorgeous sunsets, exquisite polar nightshades, all-covered snow vegetation, and a true feeling of freedom. The ascension is not steep but continuous, and the trip is quite long. A lunch taken in a lovely hut at the top will refuel us to cover the rest of kilometers.
